Design Review Board
The purpose of the Design Review Board shall be to advise the City Council, Planning Commission, and staff and to exercise other such powers and duties as established in Goleta Municipal Code Section 17.50.070.

Historic Preservation Commission
The purpose of the Historic Preservation Commission is to act as an advisory body to the staff, the Design Review Board, and City Council on all matters pertaining to historic preservation.

Library Advisory Commission
The purpose of the Library Advisory Commission shall be to advise staff and the City Council on matters affecting the Goleta Valley Library representing the interests of the library’s patrons by recommending programming and services for the library.
The Library Advisory Commission shall advise the Library Board of Trustees (Board) and increase community participation in library issues by analyzing the library's needs, considering goals, anticipating future needs and problems, acting as a liaison, acting as a sounding board, and helping to develop consensus for advisement to the Board. -

Mosquito and Vector Management District of Santa Barbara County
Mosquito and Vector Management District Board of Santa Barbara County provides direction and governance to the District relating to vectors such as mosquitoes and rats and surveillance for vector-borne pathogens such as West Nile and St. Louis encephalitis viruses. Management services are provided to all lands, both private and public, within the enhanced services areas of Santa Barbara County and its political subdivisions.

Parks and Recreation Commission
The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Commission shall be to advise the City Council on all issues related to public parks, open spaces, beaches, and indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and opportunities in Goleta.

Planning Commission
The purpose of the Planning Commission shall be to advise the City Council and staff on all matters pertaining to land use, planning, and development. The Commission shall carry out such duties as are prescribed by California law or enumerated in the Goleta Municipal Code.

Public Engagement Commission
The purpose of the Public Engagement Commission shall be to advise the City Council and staff on matters related to public engagement in City government and governance.

Public Tree Advisory Commission
The purpose of the Public Tree Advisory Commission shall be to hear appeals of decisions on the planting and removal of public trees as provided under Section 2.11.010, and to provide advice to staff and the City Council on matters related to the Goleta Urban Forest.

Santa Barbara Airport Noise Working Group
The City of Goleta is seeking volunteers from the community to serve on the Santa Barbara Airport Noise Working Group. The purpose of this group is to gain input from neighborhood representatives and other airport stakeholders on potential solutions to Airport noise issues affecting local residents. The Working Group will seek to identify realistic and achievable strategies to mitigate the noise impact of the Airport on surrounding neighborhoods.
The Santa Barbara Airport Noise Working Group will be made up of representatives from Goleta, Santa Barbara, and the unincorporated area of Isla Vista. The City is now accepting applications for the Goleta representatives from the six areas listed below:
• City Council District 1 West
• City Council District 1 East
• City Council District 2 West
• City Council District 2 East
• City Council District 3
• City Council District 4 -
Santa Barbara County Library Advisory Committee
The Santa Barbara County Library Advisory Committee reviews and maintains the master plan for each County library service zone, makes recommendations to insure adequate library services to all, determines the per capita level of service, reviews budgets, considers site locations and building programs, reviews the operation of the library.

Standing Naming Committee
The Standing Naming Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council. The Committee may consider request for the naming or re-naming of City parks, park facilities,open spaces and City buildings. The Committee shall investigate, consider and evaluate such requests and make appropriate recommendations to the City Council.
